BARUA SAGAR FORT AND LAKE

Barua sagar Fort is located in the Barua Sagar town which is situated in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh, India. This fort was built in the 18th Century by King Udit Singh of Orchha near the barua sagar lake.

This fort is a great example of ancient Indian architecture crafted from red sandstone. This fort is a popular renowned destination for tourists, it attracts tourist from around the world.

Inside the fort there are palaces, temples watch towers, water reservoirs and also a scenic view of baruasagar lake.

This fort has witnessed many significant historical events ,among which one of the notable battle was fought in 1744 between Marathas and Bundelas.

Before entering here you will first and counter Lord Hanuman's Temple. Upon entering the fort. visitors can see a blend of architecture and historical relics. 

This sport is known to be the summer palace of Rani Lakshmi Bai. Due to its location near the lake the fort experiences cool temperatures which is why Rani Lakshmi Bai used to visit here during the summer months to enjoy the coolness.

The palace has many small rooms, kitchen, large halls and also some water wells . The top most floor has many windows and because of the lake, cool breeze come through these windows. From there we can also see a very beautiful view the delights our hearts and is quite worth seeing.

Also there is a Shiva temple in the fort ,built in 19th century, where Maharani Lakshmi Bai used to come and worship. And near this temple there is also a deep well.

The baruasagar lake is a large artificial lake built 260 years ago by King Udit Singh of Orchha.

It is situated adjacent to the baruasagar Fort. The lake and fort complements each other with their beauty in their own way. Baruasagar lake is a popular tourist attraction which gives that tourist scenic view that captivates or delights their mind and heart.
