KAIMASAN TEMPLE & MAIMASAN TEMPLE

In the village named Kochha Bhanwar which is 19 meters far from Jhansi. There lived two sisters Kaimasan and Maimasan they both were very beautiful and was known for the same all over the Bundelkhand Region.

STORY BEHIND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF KAIMASAN TEMPLE AND MAIMASAN TEMPLE

 

During that time there was the administration of Mughals. One day the leader of Mughals got to know about the beauty of Kaimasan and Maimasan and wanted to meet both of them. So he decided to go to Kochha Bhanwar to meet them. And when he saw them he got impressed by the beauty of Kaimasan and Maimasan.

At that very moment he decided to get of them into his palace. O he started following them and when Kaimasan and Maimasan realized that someone is chasing them so they started running towards the forest.

After a while Mughal leader caught Kaimasan at a point. Than kaimasan couldn’t find a way to release herself from the Mughal leader so she prayed to Goddess Earth to merge herself into the Earth. And when Maimasan saw that her sister got herself merged into the Earth she also prayed the same to to Goddess Earth got herself too merged into the Earth almost 1.5 km far from the place where kaimsan got merged.

 

The Chandella ruler Chandra-Verman who the king of Mahoba District got to know about  this incident he thought that every one should know about this so he decided to make temple at the very same spot where Kaimasan and Maimsan got themselves merged into the earth. So in the year of 1120 two different temples were established by the King Chandra Verman.


In the Kaimasan Temple the idol of Maa Kamakhya was installed but is famous as Kaimasan Temple and Maimasan Temple. Devotees light lamps on the huge Vijay Deep pillar in the temple and people also come for special appearance of the temple during navaratri.

When you’ll come to visit the city of Rani Lakshmi Bai, Jhansi do visit Kaimasan temple and Maimasan temple you will find the embodiment of the bravery on this land.
